UPSOUND: (English) Will Oxley, Alvimedica navigator:

    "We're standing by."

UPSOUND: (English) Will Oxley, Alvimedica navigator:

"The crew is abandoning the ship, they are doing it one by one, across a line to the life raft."

    UPSOUND: (English) Radio:

"Ok, yes. As soon as they abandon the ship please, please make me alert."

    UPSOUND: (English) Radio:

"All people, I repeat, all people have now abandoned ship, we are securing the second life raft."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Will Oxley, Alvimedica navigator

"Yeah we just had a broken radio call from Nico (Team Vestas Wind skipper, Chris Nicholson), they've just been out to the boat, got some stuff, they're all safe and well. There is a vessel that comes once a week with supplies and goes back to Mauritius, it's here tomorrow, they're good to stay on the island and they can leave tomorrow. So we are free to go, he wished us luck and thanked us obviously for our comms (communications) last night. It seems strange to leave it at this stage, but apparently they're in good hands and all is well. So in many ways, all is well that ends well, the outcome could have been much, much worse."
