    The semi-finals of the BWF Macau Open got underway in Macau on Saturday.

    The event is part of the BRW Grand Prix Gold Series tournament.

    In the men's singles, third seeded Prannoy Haseena Sunil Kumar faced sixth seed Wong Wing Ki Vincent of Hong Kong.

    After a hard fought battle lasting an hour, Wong finally upset H.S. Prannoy, 21-16, 16-21, 21-12.

    In the women's singles, second seed P.V. Sindhu took 42 minutes to beat eighth seed Busanan Ongbumrungpan of Thailand in straight sets, 21-14, 21-15.

    In the men's doubles, second seeds, Danny Bawa Chrisnanta and Chayut Triyachart of Singapore, fought back to defeat beat fourth seeds Wahyu Nayaka Arya Pankaryanira and Ade Yusuf of Indonesia, 18-21, 21-17, 21-19.

    China's Ou Dongni and Yu Xiaohan took on third seeds Vivian Hah Mun Hoo and Khe Wei Woon of Malaysia in the semis of the women's doubles.

    The Chinese pair got the better of the Malaysian duo in a narrow win 24-22, 21-19 win.
