Final qualifying for the last race of the FIA World Endurance season - the 6 Hours of Sao Paulo - got underway at the famous Interlagos circuit on Saturday.
And it was a day of success for Aston Martin.
The British team swept to pole position in both the LMGTE Pro and Am categories.
Stefan Mücke and Darren Turner in the No.97 Vantage V8 proved to be the strongest and most consistent Pro pairing on the day.
They proved to be over three seconds a lap quicker than last year's pole time at Interlagos and claimed their third consecutive class position
Taking the fight to the German-British duo was the No.92 Porsche Team Manthey 911 RSR of Patrick Pilet and Frédéric Makowiecki.
They lapped just just 0.053s ahead of the No.99 Aston Martin Vantage of local star Fernando Rees and a highly motivated Darryl O'Young.
Fourth overall and leading an Aston Martin Am 1-2 was the No.98 of Pedro Lamy and Christoffer Nygaard who also claimed their third pole of the season.
The six-hour endurance battle begins in earnest with a traditional rolling start on Sunday (November 30).
With the drivers' title already decided in favour of Toyota's Anthony Davidson and Sebastien Buemi, Audi will be anxious to leave Brazil with the Constructors championship - but will face stiff competition from Toyota.
