Solberg wins Argentina World Rallycross

    World champion Petter Solberg won the World Rallycross of Argentina in San Luis on Saturday (29th November), while Olsbergs MSE claimed the team title.

    World Rallycross champion Petter Solberg capped off his title winning season in style - dominating the final round in Argentina.

    "To win the end of season race it's very important and for all the mechanics in the team, you know that they will have a great party tonight, that's for sure."

    The Norwegian won his semi-final and started from pole position in the final.

    Reinis Nitiss joined him on the front row.

    The duo were challenged by second row starter Toomas Heikkinen.

    On the final lap Solberg took his joker, along with Nitiss.

    The world champion exited in the lead to secure the win.

    Now he's looking to next year.

    "It's been hard work, I think all the teams have been absolutely flat out between the races to improve and develop and I think maybe the biggest development I had this year was before this race, maybe forty per cent of the car for next year and I have been trying different things throughout the whole race."

    It's Solberg's fifth victory of the year.

    Olsbergs MSE claimed the team title.
