  • Intro:

Tributes were paid to Phil Hughes from cricketers in India on Friday.

    Script:

SOUNDBITE: (English) Karsan Ghavri, Former India bowler:

"It's not his fault actually, he bowled a bouncer to just get his wicket. See, he was already batting on 63 or something like that, so you know he was playing extremely well. So this bowler must have tried something different by bowling a bouncer to go for a hook shot. Unfortunately he did not connect with the ball and he got hit, but the basic idea and the bottom line is the bowlers do always bowl a bouncer to get a wicket, you know."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Karsan Ghavri, Former India bowler:

"Now (the bowler) when he plays matches now... psychologically, definitely he will keep thinking, 10 times, 'whether I should bowl a bouncer or not', somebody might get hurt again?' But it should not really bother him really, so he just has to continue as normal as possible. (It's) Like when you know the same bowler plays against another batsman, the other batsman will also start thinking that he is the one who killed a batsman, so a logical block will stay in the players mind, but I don't think it will remain for ever."
