SOUNDBITE: (English) AB de Villiers, South Africa captain (on how important it is to learn lessons from the Australia tour):

"No, it's crucial. I thought all the guys learnt some valuable lessons, in this tour. It was a very long tour for us, starting in New Zealand, we played some good cricket. We were in a good position in the third ODI as well. Then there was some break for some of the guys who didn't play in the T20's, and then the ODI series against Oz (Australia). So it all felt a little bit long, but really crucial preparations for us before the World Cup, just getting used to the conditions."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Russell Domingo, South African coach:

"Any side not having JP Duminy and AB de Villiers playing for them is going to be tested, so.... it's a blessing in disguise as far as I'm concerned that we were allowed to see what the depth of the squad is at the moment, give an opportunity to one or two fringe players to try and stake a claim for selection for the next series against the West Indies and for the World Cup. So, it was, in that regard it was a very, very good tour for us to give opportunities to some of the guys that in all likeness, in all honesty probably wouldn't be first choice players if AB de Villiers and JP Duminy were available."

SOUNDBITE: (English) AB de Villiers, South Africa captain: "We've got to be switched on all the time if we want to be the best fielding team in the world.

We learnt a lot, once again, I know we always say that, but if you don't learn, especially if you're not playing well, then you're not going to move forward as a team. I am pretty hard on that as a captain, with the fielding skills and our, our standards that we set for ourselves. We know we were a little bit below par, but I believe we improved as a team. There's more awareness around us, wanting to be the best fielding team in the world and that's a great starting point."
