Paul Lambert's reaction after Aston Villa drew 1-1 with Southampton in the English Premier League on Monday 24th November

    Script:

SOUNDBITE: (English) Paul Lambert, Aston Villa manager (On the match)

"We were up against a team that has probably spent a lot more than us, that's for sure and we've got six players out, if you look at the three centre backs, Benteke, Delph, Kozak, six players, it's half our team we've still got out. So big plusses there, it's a big point because I think they're a good side and they've let alone (not) conceded a goal for a long time."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Paul Lambert, Aston Villa manager (Q: A lot of people are saying it's Southampton's worst performance of the season, is it to your credit that they played that way?)

"Yeah well I think so. You've got to give credit where credit is due I think. We got at them, we were a threat all night I thought with Gabby's (Agbonlahor) speed. We worked on the way we play the game and tactically it paid off with Gabby's speed and if you've got that in your side, you try and utilise it. As I said before, I thought we could have, if Andy (Andreas Weimann) scores we win that game."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Paul Lambert, Aston Villa manager (Q: What's Andy Weimann been like in the dressing room, has he been kicking himself over the missed chance?)

"No, no. Listen he's scored important goals for this football club, so I'm not going to let one chance blow anything that I think of him really."
