  • Intro:

FK Jablonec scored in the 90th minute to snatch a 2-1 win at Banik Ostrava on Saturday (22nd November) to keep their Czech Liga title challenge on track.

    Script:

FK Jablonec proved themselves a worthy contender for the close race to win the Czech Gambrinus Liga, after a last-minute 2-1 away win against Banik Ostrava on Sunday.

Jablonec were all over the home side from the beginning onwards, and created a dangerous chance in the 26th minute, when Daniel Rossi Silva's header went straight at goalkeeper Jiri Pavlenka.

But Martin Dolezal crushed the home side's hopes after his shot met Mingazov's incoming cross, and the score was 1-0.

The home side turned things around 20 minutes later, when Vojtech Stepan's header leveled the score.

This turnaround left Jablonec pressing for a late winner, and Ostrava let in a last gasp goal in the most unfortunate manner. Pavlenka managed to block Romero's effort, but the resulting parried ball bounced off Jan Baranek and went straight into his own net.

This win keeps Jablonec a point behind current leaders Sparta Prague, but things remiain undecided as third place Plzen still have a game in hand.
