10-man KV Oostende held on to beat Belgian Pro League high-flyers Standard Liege 3-2 on Sunday (November 23)

    Script:

The drama in KV Oostende's 3-2 victory against Standard Liege in the Belgian Pro League on Sunday started off early on, when Yoann Thuram's harsh tackle on Coulibaly awarded the home side a penalty.

The French goalkeeper also received a yellow card for his block, and Sebastien Siani coolly converted the shot. Oostende were 1-0 up.

The relegation side's glory only lasted for half an hour, as M'poku's cross met Igor de Camargo in the box, and the score was level.

Things took an even more wrong turn for Oostende, after Andile Jali was shown a red card for a tackle on M'poku, and the struggling side were down to 10 men.

But Oostende did not give in, and produced a remarkable goal after the break. Coulibaly captured Ruiz's long ball on his chest, and slotted it in for 2-1.

But Liege were ruthless on the counter. Just 5 minutes later, Bia's quickfire effort put the away side straight back into the game.

And cards were been handed out left right and centre, when Oostende were awarded another penalty after Arslanagic hacked down Ruiz with just 7 minutes to go.

Siani was at it again, and the eventual victory helped Oostende climb up from the relegation zone to ninth place.
