    Script:

The weather was playing havoc as the weekend action kicked off at the Australian Masters in Melbourne.

Peter Wilson gained a few feet for his birdie putt on the 18th, yet missed the chance and remains at three-under-par after a level par 72.

Two-time defending champion, Adam Scott, was having a tough time, hitting out a plugged lie, as he went out in 39

The Masters Champion then showed on the back nine. A brilliant tee shot on the par three 11th gave him a tap in for birdie.

The world number two would make four birdies, with the final one coming in on the 16th hole to move to five-under for the tournament - four off the lead.

The other Australian major winner in the field, US Open champion Geoff Ogilvy, like Scott, carded a one-under 71. Ogilvy, here setting up a birdie at the 9th. The Victorian is five-under overall and tied for sixth.

Paul Spargo leads after round three, the South Australian fired five birdies to end with a 71. To take a one-shot lead at eight-under.
