  • Intro:

England's Nick Matthew has been defeated in the semi-final of the Squash World Championship in controversial fashion.

    Script:

A frenzied and confusing five-minute dispute in the first game, set the tone for the tense semi-final match-up between England's Nick Matthew and Egypt's Mohamed Elshorbagy at the squash World Championship.

Matthew claimed Elshorbagy interfered with his backswing.

The referee awarded all three possible decisions - let, no let and penalty point - before a replay lead to a no let being awarded.

It enabled Elshorbagy to draw level at 9-all.

The Egyptian capitalised on the decision well.

He went on to close out the first game and then dominate the second.

Before tenaciously halting a bold fight-back from the defending champion in the third to win 11-9, 11-5, 11-8.

He'll face compatriot Ramy Ashour in the final.
