Wright leads Australian Masters after second round

    Michael Wright of Australia shot a four-under 68 to lead by two shots after the second round of the Australian Masters in Melbourne on Friday (21 November).

    Ideal conditions greeted players again, Adam Scott was greeted by fans, ahead of the second round of the Australian Masters in Melbourne on Friday.

    The US Masters winner got off hot with three birdies and one eagle on the front nine.

    He then rolled in this birdie on the tenth to move to five under for the day to keep his hopes alive of claiming a third Australian Masters in as many years.

    Another major winner in the field, former US Open champion Geoff Ogilvy sank his only birdie on the 14th hole.

    Ogilvy, who hails from the state of Victoria, shot a one-under 71 to go four-under overall and tied for seventh.

    Both players have to overcome overnight leader Michael Wright.

    The Queenslander hit one of the shots of the day with this approach on the 5th hole.

    He then went on to complete three birdies on the trot, ending with this putt on the sixth to move to 9 under and maintain his 2 shot lead going into the weekend.
