France and Switzerland prepare for the David Cup final in Lille, France.

    Script:

SOUNDBITE (English): Roger Federer, Switzerland (on his back injury):

"It's better for sure, I mean it's much better than how I felt waking up on Sunday for the (ATP Tour World) Finals in London. At least I can run again and do things which wasn't possible at all, so I am relieved to a certain extent, I am happy I was able to be on the court again, that's why I'm here, I'm not here just to stand around and just be here and do interviews. I've been very caring about the other team members because they are the ones who have been feeling good, they are the ones who have been able to practise and we have to rely on every help we have, and the captain (Severin Luthi) has been handling the situation nicely. For me, it's good now to know that I can do things on a court again, and it gives me an opportunity to play on Friday which I'm very relieved about."

SOUNDBITE (English): Gael Monfils, France (on Friday's singles rubber against Federer in light of US Open quarter-final this year when Monfils had two match points before losing to Federer):

"It's going to be a great experience again, always when you play against Roger it's a great experience and this one is going to be, for sure, unbelievable you know. To play him in the final of the Davis Cup, at home, in front of 27,000 people, also this one is going to be something. I am thinking I don't have to focus too much on my last match I had against him, you know I think I need to take the positive part at some stage during the match, but this one is going to be totally different. With the atmosphere, with the court, and I feel different also to how I was at the US Open, so I just have to take this one as a new experience."
