  • Intro:

Chennaiyin FC beat FC Pune City 3-1 on Wednesday, moving them to the top of the Indian Super League standings (19th November).

    Script:

Chennaiyin came into this meeting with Pune City having lost just once in the opening eight games of the Indian Super League.

With the league's top scorer and former Manchester City man Elano in fine form, the home side have scored more than any other side, yet they were made to wait by Pune.

The opener coming through Stiven Mendoza, the Colombian's fourth goal of the season.

Just five minutes later Chennaiyin got it all wrong at the back. Denson Davadas losing the ball in midfield, before yet more unsure defending resulting in Eric Djemba-Djemba putting into his own net.

What followed was the stuff of managerial defensive nightmares.

Bruno Pelissari waltzed through to score inside a minute of Pune going level.

And before the game was up, Balwant Singh provided for Jeje Lalpekhlua to finish the game off.

Chennaiyin's 3-1 win sends them top due to their superior goals for over Kolkata after round nine of the season.
