"I think a lot of people are shocked, you know, because in NFC West, they thought it would be the Seattle Seahawks or the San Francisco 49ers. But you have the Arizona Cardinals at 9 and 1. AFC, you know, I think with the New England Patriots they got off a shaky start but now they starting to rebound, you know they start to make their move. But you still got Pittsburgh, you got Cincinnati, Denver Broncos - they just lost to the Rams. So it's like there is a heavyweight bout going on, everybody is trying to position themselves and get ready for the second half of the season where they are going to make a run to get into the playoffs and try to get to the Super Bowl."

SOUNDBITE(English) Jerry Rice, Hall of Famer, NFL
"I believe in my 9ers but who would have thought that the Arizona Cardinals are 9 and 1 and they are playing exceptional football, Carson Palmer, he got hurt but he is down but that defense is playing well and the offense still putting up points - so you would have to give A to Arizona Cardinals, but still with Seattle, you cannot count them out. So I think the second half is really gonna predict where teams are going to position themselves, if they are going to run for the playoffs or if they are going to have that bye-week but right now the front runner in the NFC West is the Arizona Cardinals. And I am still going hang in there with New England Patriots in the AFC and also the Denver Broncos."
