  • Intro:

Some of the world's biggest football stars have joined together for a video campaign to fight Ebola.

    Script:

Ronaldo, Neymar, Lahm, Bale and Drogba. Some of biggest stars in World football have come together to help with a campaign to educate people on how to stop the spread of the deadly Ebola virus.

SOUNDBITE: (English), Dr Jiri Dvorak, FIFA Chief Medical Officer:

"The footballers, the language of football, the universal language of football should speak through the big stars like Neymar, Cristiano Ronaldo, Didier Drogba and others. Eleven players, eleven messages, eleven against Ebola."

That is the name of this campaign made as the number of deaths during this outbreak passes 5,000. The worst affected area is West Africa, soccer is without doubt the biggest sport on the continent and so organisers hope this message will get through.

The virus has had a huge impact on African football. Fears of infection led to Morocco refusing to host January's African Cup of Nations, which will now take place in Equatorial Guinea.

It is hoped these short simple messages will have an impact on a complex, at times dire situation.
