The top of Euroleague Basketball Group A clash between second-place Anadolu Efes Istanbul and leaders Real Madrid lived up to its billing in a thrilling encounter.

When Andres Nocioni levelled for Real the match appeared to be heading for overtime. But up popped Efes' Matt Janning for a game winning tip-in to snatch a 75-73 win.

Also in Group A struggling Dinamo Banco di Sardegna Sassari of Italy surprised Lithuanians Zalgiris Kaunas 92-80.

To Group B now and ALBA Berlin who secured a 80-67 success at Cedevita Zagreb in Croatia which lifts the Germans up to fourth.

At the summit of Group B Russians CSKA Moscow recovered from a 12-point deficit to record a 86-76 victory at Limoges CSP of France to remain undefeated this season.

And finally to Group C where another unbeaten side, Barcelona, consolidated their place at the top of the table with a 78-69 defeat of Greeks Panathinaikos Athens.
