Poulter wastes six-shot lead in Turkey

    Ian Poulter squandered a six-shot halfway lead in the Turkish Airlines Open to end Saturday (November 15) one shot behind Australian Wade Ormsby.

    The weekend's action at the Turkish Open begun with the completion of the second round, following storms in Antalya on Friday.

    German Marcel Siem was enjoying his third round and hit this approach to set-up birdie at the 12th.

    Siem knows a win in Turkey gives him a chance of overhauling Rory Mcllroy in the Race to Dubai & the German sits on -11 after Round 3.

    Another man who joins him on -11 under is Lee Westwood. The Englishman carding a -5, 67 to sit in joint second going into the final round.

    Six shots up at the turn was Ian Poulter. And despite this pinpoint approach at 17, this was only one of two birdies as he finished with a +3 over 75, to also tie for second on -11 under for the tournament.

    Poulter afterwards suggesting tonight's dinner was going to "taste horrible" having allowed so many players back into contention.

    The man who should enjoy his meal the most, is Wade Ormsby.

    The Australian finished with an eagle at the last to take a one shot lead at -12 under into the final round in Turkey.
