ATP World Tour Finals: Murray out

  • Intro:

Britain's Andy Murray crashes out of the ATP World Tour Finals in London, losing 6-0 6-1 to a sublime Roger Federer.

    Script:

Roger Federer thrashed Andy Murray 6-0 6-1 to end the Briton's ATP World Tour Finals hopes in humiliating fashion.

The 17-time Grand Slam champion needed just 56 minutes to win his third Group B match and reach the semi-finals.

The Swiss said he was shocked to inflict Murray's heaviest defeat in seven years:

    SOUNDBITE (English) Roger Federer:

"Yeah, I know. It was a bad combination for Andy, I had a great day today, played great from the baseline, didn't make many mistakes, so overall unbelievably happy. Total surprise for me, this one-sided result, really."

Murray was understandably disappointed with his performance:

    SOUNDBITE (English) Andy Murray:
"Well, he played exceptional well, that's for sure. I can say that I was disappointed with my level tonight, but he... if I'd played well, he probably still would have won..."

A sobering night for the Scot, who's lost all nine of this year's matches against Federer, Djokovic and Nadal.
