England's Ian Poulter opened up a three-shot lead over the rest of the field on the second day of the Turkish Airlines Open in Antalya on Friday, before play was prematurely brought to an end because of bad weather.

    Script:

Day two of the Turkish Airlines Open started fine enough despite bad weather forcing play to be cut short.

England's Ian Poulter still had time to take control at the top of the leaderboard after opening up with an eight-under-par round of 64 on day one.

He quickly overhauled overnight leader Miguel Angel Jimenez in the second round.

This monster putt at the seventh took him to 11-under-par.

The birdies kept coming at the 10th.

Then the 11th, where he almost scored an eagle.

The Englishman's momentum was stalled by the weather however.

Thunder and lightning forced tournament organisers to suspend play shortly after midday.

Two hours later, it was abandoned, with Poulter three shots clear.

The USA's Brooks Koepka and Australia's Wade Ormsby lie a shot further back on nine-under.
