After swinging through Asia, the LPGA Tour returned to North America for the Lorena Ochoa Invitational on Thursday.

American Christina Kim a seven-under-par 65 to grab a one-stroke lead. The 30-year-old's bogey-free round included eagles at the par-five second and 17th holes in Mexico City.

Sitting in second place is Spain's Azahara Munoz. The 26-year-old rolled in a long eagle putt on the par-five 17th before carding a six-under 66.

Two shots further back in third is Lydia Ko. The Kiwi recorded a 68 to leave her three shots off top spot.

World number one Inbee Park is way down in seventh. The 26-year-old South Korean bogeyed two of her first four holes but recovered to shoot a two-under 70.

American Stacy Lewis endured a disappointing afternoon. The world number two's round of three-over 76 didn't include a single bogey and leaves the 29-year-old tied for 31st in the 36-player field.
