SOUNDBITE (English) Rohit Sharma, India batsman:

"Yeah, absolutely. Getting to a hundred is always a special feeling and (it's) no different for me. It was a special hundred... I had to build an innings, there is no doubt about that. Initially, the first 10-15 overs was not easy, coming back from injury, playing after two months (out of the game). I was feeling a little out of place, I should accept that. You know, the free-flowing stroking was not coming as naturally as it comes to me, but I wanted to get stuck in the middle. That required a lot of dedication, determination, so yes, I kept telling myself that no matter what, how many ball I play, I need to stay there because I know that I can cover up any time."

SOUNDBITE (English) Rohit Sharma, India batsman:

"No, I knew he got 219 (Virender Sehwag against the West Indies in 2011), because the last time I scored 209 someone said 'You've missed the world record by ten runs', but seriously, when I was batting, I wasn't looking at that, which is why you must have seen on TV also, I was a little shocked or a little surprised, because when I saw my teammates in the dressing room standing and giving me the ovation, I was a little surprised as to what happened. But then I realised, ok, it must be the 219, I must have overpassed it. So yeah, it's a good feeling, you know, most importantly, I'm happy that I batted for 50 overs. To start from the first over and to bat to the end of the last over is something which is really pleasing for me."
