The 2014 Barclays ATP World Tour Finals was officially launched on Friday evening during an exclusive cruise along the River Thames.

The top eight singles players and doubles teams joined 300 guests on the Silver Sturgeon.

Sailing from the Savoy Pier, guests were treated to food by Jamie Oliver’s Fabulous Feasts and personalised magnums of champagne as they sailed to The O2, where the tournament begins on Sunday.

History will be made tomorrow afternoon when Kei Nishikori becomes the first Asian player to compete in the singles when he challenges home favourite Andy Murray.

World number one Novak Djokovic is also in action. He's been taking advice from Swiss legend Roger Federer on balancing fatherhood with a tennis career after the Serbian's wife, Jelena, gave birth to their first child, Stefan, last month.

Choppy waters could lie ahead for Murray when he plays his first match in the UK since he backed Scottish independence in September.
