The Mizuno Classic, the final tournament of LPGA's Asian swing,

Veteran and Hall of Famer Laura Davies of England held the club house lead for most of the day after firing in a four-under 68 early on.

Former world number one Yani Tseng was one-over for the day when she pulled her tee shot way left on the par five 13th. Tseng lost her ball and walked off with a seven and settle for a two-over 74.

Former two-time champion Jiyai Shin started with a one-under 71. The South Korean won in this tournament in 2008 and 2010.

World number two Stacy Lewis fired four birdies and two bogeys in her round of 70.

Chella Choi, still looking for her first career win, rolled in a superb birdie putt on the 17th to move to four-under 68. Choi is tied for second along with veteran Davies.

Morgan Pressel, one of the few to remain blemish-free, impressed with her iron shots and enjoyed back-to-back birdies on the 15th and 16th holes.

The American drained this on the 15th to move to four under at that stage and then fired a brilliant approach on to the 16th green to set up the second consecutive birdie.

Pressel would knock that in to move to five under and end with 67 for a one shot lead in this 54-hole tournament.
