  • Intro:

Graeme McDowell builds a three shot lead at the halfway stage of the HSBC Champions in Shanghai on Friday (7th November).

    Script:

Adam Scott was one of those still struggling to get to grips with the Sheshan International course in Shanghai on round two.

The Australian carded an even par round of 72 - but had to endure a quadruple bogey at the par five eighth hole to leave him on two under for the tournament.

Martin Kaymer also managed a round of 72, with his highlight coming on the seventh hole.

Rickie Fowler negotiated thirteen consecutive pars before picking up his first birdie of the day at the fourteenth hole - the American gaining another at the 16th hole to come home in 70.

Shot of the day came from Kevin Na - up and over the bunker at 16 to leave him on five under at the halfway stage.

Bubba Watson moved sixteen places up the leaderboard after a birdie blitz on Friday.

The American went round in 67 - five under par - to move to six under for the tournament.

Ian Poulter finished runner up twelve months ago and gave himself an excellent chance of going one better by moving up to second place with a round of 67.

The Englishman lies three shots behind leader Graeme McDowell.

McDowell was bogey free and will be the man to catch heading into the last two rounds in Shanghai.
