The historical Delhi Golf Club, known for its wildlife as well as thick woods, hosted the latest stop on the Asian Tour - the Indian Open.

Thailand's 18-year old pro Jazz Janewattananond largely stayed out of trouble on the tough course though, as he sank this birdie putt on the 16th and ended with a 69 to be tied for sixth.

Local pro Rashid Khan had two bogeys in the first five holes but bounced back well with birdies on the 4th, 6th and 8th. He would make three more birdies in the final stretch to shoot a 68 and lie joint second.

Choo Tze Huang of Singapore also sits in second after a 68, along with Defending champion Wade Ormsby at 3-under par.

Ormsby overcame a bogey on the fourth and then fired four birdies on the trot - this birdie putt on the 7th being the highlight.

Rahil Gangjee, who won his only Asian Tour title ten years ago, is on the right path to improve on that record. The Indian hit this superb approach on the fourth to set up birdie.

He then sank this putt for birdie on the 9th, the toughest hole on the course, to complete a round of 66, with seven birdies and one bogey.

Gangjee holds a two shot lead heading into round 2 at 5-under par.
