SOUNDBITE: (English) Dikembe Mutombo, former NBA player.

"We were coming back after almost a decade and now we are in the worst pandemic endemic of Africa with Ebola , we already lost 30 billion dollars from revenue so we are keeping our heads up, we are bringing our forces together to make sure we are united to make the cure to find the vaccine. But life has to go on...The game has grown more than 30% from last year, with the game now televised to more than two hundred countries this year. More kids and more children are watching the game and playing the game all over the universe so we are very pleased. "

SOUNDBITE: (English) Indira Kaljo, basketball player.

"For me I became personally aware of the problem of the hijab with FIBA when I decided to cover full time, alhamdulillah, and I decided to play professionally. I played two years before and I saw they had a ban, and so I started a campaign in America...the US Olympic Committee backed us up. I say this is an issue to all muslim women, to hijabi wearers, turban wearers, they have to be able to play basketball on an international scale"

SOUNDBITE: (English) Indira Kaljo, basketball player.

"I see myself as a basketball player that wears hijab. This is of course a big part of my life, being a muslim, alhamdulillah, and I see it as a blessing but it doesn't have to be focused. What should be focused is - am I a good shooter? Can I play basketball well?"
