SOUNDBITE: (English) Linford Christie.former 100m Olympic champion (On whether Qatar can organise the 2022 WC)

"I think they will do good games definitely. I think they should still keep it here, it's been awarded you know, they have built some great infrastructure you know, air conditioning stadiums outdoors - it's just absolutely amazing. Yes, I think they will put a good games and everyone who will comes here will enjoy it."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Linford Christie. former 100m Olympic champion:

"I mean this shows the progress made everywhere - when I came here in 1996-97 you know this was a desert and now you look they have a got a massive sports complex, the torch behind us. I'd love to be here, sunshine."

SOUNDBITE:(English) Linford Christie. former 100m Olympic champion (on giving banned athletes a second chance)

"Of course you got to always give people a second chance otherwise what happens? Everyone makes mistakes so what happens if you don't give them a second chance - you just leave them to society to waste away. I do believe in it and everyone should realize that forgiveness is the best thing. You go to jail and you do some other crime and you come back to society and I think this what's all about, get you back to society to be a great citizen. I definitely believe in second chances."
