While Flavia Pennetta beat Carla Suarez-Navarro 6-4, 6-2 on Saturday (1st November) to reach WTA Tournament Of Champions final.

The story of the Tournament of Champions so far - Gabrine Muguruza - would surely face her toughest challenge yet in Andrea Petkovic in the semi-finals in Sofia.

The 21-year-old Spaniard having dropped just one set, found herself down an early break in the first.

And Petkovic continued from there, finding another break before leading 5-1. She dictated the Spaniard from the baseline & put her away taking the first 6-1.

The second went on serve in the first four games, then a tame serve from Muguruza was all too easy for the number four seed to break at 3-2.

Petkovic's serve was faultless without a single double fault & she closed out the match 6-1, 6-4 to move into Sunday's final.

The opponent for the German would come from another Spaniard Carla Suarez Navarro or Italian Flavia Pennetta.

And the second semi-final was a far tighter affair as the first set went on serve into the tenth game.

Then Pennetta made her move as her aggressive style broke Suarez Navarro to love taking the set 6-4.

Into the second and the Italian was again on top. Pennetta already had her break of serve and then with the Spaniard up at the net, she found this lob to set up match point.

Suarez Navarro's usually consist backhand failing her as this unforced error gifted Pennetta the win to set up a final with Petkovic.

A clash that has brought two wins apeice in the head to heads.
