Azahara Munoz had four birdies when she reached the 18th hole and the Spaniard chipped in for eagle to shoot a six-under 66. She is ten-under overall and tied for third.
Local star Yani Tseng managed to break her seven-iron, while playing from the fairway rough with the ball rolling into the bunker - the club-head landing about fifty yards from where she played the shot.
Seventeen year old world number three Lydia Ko of New Zealand made six birdies on the trot on the front nine - a highlight being this approach to the fifth on her way to carding a 65 - she's ten under for the tournament and joint third.
Mirim Lee, who started on the tenth hole, broke the course-record with a ten-under 62 - shooting ten birdies in her round. She's in a 4-way tie for third.
In-form Shanshan Feng of China, followed her first round 64 with a 65 in round two- she's outright second at 15-under - three shots off the pace.
Feng trails Inbee Park of South Korea who began with five birdies in her first six holes before this iron shot on the 8th - that was for eagle.
She went on to make four more birdies, including this on the 15th to equal Mirim Lee's course-record of ten-under 62 that was set hours earlier.
She's 18-under for the tournament and takes a three shot lead into the weekend.
