SOUNDBITE (English) Alan Irvine, West Brom head coach:
(On the changes he made in the League Cup)
"I took a long time thinking through each individual and deciding whether they needed a game or they didn't need a game or whether they needed to rest and be left back here. Eventually we picked the team that we picked. It was a very similar team in the last two rounds of the competition and we got through there. It was a team that had nine internationals in it and all players who had played in the Premier League. It was a team that was capable of winning the game, we didn't and that still stings."
SOUNDBITE (English) Alan Irvine, West Brom head coach:
(On recent performances against Manchester United and Crystal Palace)
"They were two very different feelings after those games. Bitterly disappointed that we didn't hold out and win the game against Manchester United and extremely pleased that we came back from 2-0 down at half-time against Crystal Palace. Overall in terms of the performances I thought we played really well for the whole game and had to against Manchester United and I thought that we played poorly for half an hour against Crystal Palace and then played well for an hour."
