SOUNDBITE: (English) Ian Walker, GBR, Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing skipper:

"We knew it wasn't going to be an easy race and I think that's been proven. I think all the boats have had moments of competitiveness. I think everyone lead the race in the first week, so clearly it's going to be a very close race. I think the leg's gone very well for us, we've sailed very conservatively, tried not to take any risks, go the big decision around Cape Verde Islands and the Doldrums right, which has put us in the position we're in, but, you know, we're certainly not able to just sail away from everybody else and we have to fight for every single mile. So it's going to be a long old race ahead of us."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Bouwe Bekking, NED, Team Brunel skipper:

"More or less everybody has gybed as well, so everybody I've seen that...the brick wall, you won't want to hit that. So everybody just invests in going the one way. And of course, not the just the fleet leaders but the pack behind, of course, they made massive gains. They gained something like 50, 60 miles persistent sailing in the overall race, so there will be big hoorays on these boats over there. But, as you can see, we're pretty relaxed about it and it's all about range and bearings, so it hasn't been too bad for us."
