Chris Harding from Birmingham won his 3rd World Crazy Golf championship on Saturday (25th October) at Hastings, on England's south coast.

n 1066 it was the scene of one of the most famous battles in English history - and in 2014 the sleepy seaside town of Hastings on England's south coast played host to another desperate skirmish: the annual World Crazy Golf Championships.

A total of 62 'crazy' golfers turned out from four different countries to tackle the challenging seafront Adventure course, with the swirling winds of the British Channel once again set to provide a stern test in Hastings, considered by many to be the spiritual home of the sport.

Most were hoping to emulate some of the greats of the modern game, like five-time winner Tim Davies or two-time former champion Michael Smith.

The 12th edition of the tournament saw the players compete over six qualifying rounds on the 18-hole course, before the cut was made and the top 18 players went on to contest the final round.

Amongst the obstacles on the World Championship course was a classic Windmill, a waterwheel, an obelisk, a lighthouse and various ramps and bunkers.

Chris Harding, a Manager of Waterstone bookshop in Birmingham, won the men's tournament finishing seven-shots clear.

Harding is now a three-time World Crazy Golf Champion having won the titles back in 2007 and 2010.

The next event on the BMGA Tour is the Kent Open, which gets underway on the 9th of November at the Lost Island Encounter Adventure Golf Course in Chislehurst.
