  • Intro:

Simona Halep reached the final of the WTA Finals on Saturday (25th October) after a straight-sets win over Agnieszka Radwanska.

    Script:

World No 6 Agnieszka Radwanska sneaked into the semi-finals in Singapore, while her opponent - Simona Halep - is the form player at the Finals.

The World No 3 defeated Serena Williams in the group stages, inflicting one of the American's heaviest defeats - 6-0, 6-2 - & she found her touch in the first set.

Taking a double break, the Romanian commanded play from the back of the court and put the Pole away with a forehand to take command of the first set, winning it 6-2

Into the second set and Halep showed no signs of letting up.

Breaking the World No 6 again twice early on, Radwanska was being moved all round the court. And the World No 3 had one foot in the final went she took a 5-1 lead.

Radwanska managed to hold her serve, forcing Halep to serve out the match.

Again controlling play from the back of the court, the 23-year-old saw out a comfortable 6-2, 6-2 win.

A second win in a week over Serena would round off quite a year for the Romanian youngster.
