    SOUNDBITE (English) Rafa Nadal:

"(It) Has been a very hard year for me, mentally and physically too, so it's the moment to say in the remaining two tournaments, I'm not going to play Paris and London. I'm not competitive enough to do that. I need to do the surgery for appendicitis, I need to work on my back a lot. Since Australia, I'm not 100 per cent recovered, so that needs time and that needs a period of five weeks to be ready to work hard again, so if I play the last two tournaments of the season, I'm not going to be fit, I'm not going to be competitive, so for me it's no chance to try to win and with no chances to win, it's better for me to try to recover my body, do all the things I have to do and for sure, I hope to be back."

    SOUNDBITE (English) Rafa Nadal:

"I'm going to have the surgery the third of November. I have the surgery the Mondy after Paris, I'm going to work this week on a treatment I have to do for my back, so I have to do a few things on my back that take five, six, seven days to be recovered. It can be painful, but it's something that I'm going to do so I have enought time.
