With Peter Whiteford leading at the halfway point, the battle for the Perth International was well poised going into the third round at Lake Karrinyup.

Scotsman David Drysdale is well in contention as his compatriot Whiteford slipped.

A steady round of one under par 71 leaves him in a tie for fifth place.

Richard Green carries the local hopes going into the final round.

The Australian carded a round of 70 to also take a share of fifth place.

Higher up the leaderboard, Sihwan Kim is clear in second place after another fine round - the Korean eagled on the 14th on his way to a round of 69 and 13 under par.

He's still some way of leader Thorbjorn Olesen who ignited his round with a chip in for birdie at the third hole to secure a five under round of 67.

The Dane now holds a three shot advantage on sixteen under par - as he looks to claim his second tournament title in Perth in three years.
