Beijing Guoan are slowly getting closer in the fight for first place in the Chinese Super League after they beat Hangzhou Greentown 2-1 on Sunday.
The rivalry was bound to be a tense one for Guouan as they were missing defenders Zhou Ting and Zhang Chengdong, but it started off looking promising after Damjanovic's shot went just wide.
However, it was the hosts who opened the score in the 32nd minute, where it was the defender Wang Lin who provided the assist, delivering a pass for Brazilian Anselmo Roman, who made the score 1-0.
Action in the second half started quickly as Guoan continued to press despite being one down. Finally in the 58th minute, it was Zhang Xizhe who equalised, after a clever series of passes from Dejan.
The score remained level until the very last seconds, where Dejan was brought down in the box by Cao Xuan, and Beijing were awarded a penalty.
This was converted by Argentine Pabo Batalla, making the score 2-1 and securing the lead for the visitors.
Beijing are now second in the Super League, just 6 points behnid leaders Guangzhou Evergrade, with 2 games to go.
