The LPGA's KEB-Hanabank Championship got underway on Thursday and many golfers found scoring difficult in the windy conditions.
Fan favourite Michelle Wie struggled, but she gave the gallery a thrill at the par 5, 18th when she almost made this chip for an eagle.
Wie tapped in for birdie for an opening 4-over 76.
Lydia Ko also struggled with the conditions carding a 1-over par 73. She ended on a high though by making a birdie at the last.
Last week's winner in Malaysia Shanshan Feng of China opened with a one-under 71 including this birdie at the 16th.
After missing Malaysia to get married, In-bee Park is back home in Korea and also started with a 71 where she sits four shots off the lead.
Norway's Suzann Pettersen is three back after she birdied the 18th to finish with a two-under par 70.
Five players are tied for second at three-under, including Korean Mi-rim Lee and Australian Min-jee Lee, both of whom, along with many others made birdie at the 18th.
Defending champion Amy Yang is also in that group at 3-under after shooting a 69, including this birdie at 14.
The leader after the first round of the tournament is US-based South Korean Hae-ji Kang, who finished with par at 18 for a 5-under par 67.
