Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar unveiled the new logo of cricket club Legends of Rupganj in Bangladesh on Tuesday.

Legends of Rupganj was previously known as Gazi Tank Cricketers, defending champions of the Dhaka Premier League.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board requires a renamed club to play one season under its former name after which it can apply for a change.

Rupganj is the hometown of Lutfar Rahman Badal, a businessman and cricket official. He has been in charge of Mohammedan Sporting Club's Dhaka Premier League winning campaigns.

Batting maestro Tendulkar went on to praise Badal:

    SOUNDBITE: (English) Sachin Tendulkar:

"I want to wish Bangladesh Cricket all the way best for the future and also wish Badal and his team all the success. May cricket be always be the winner. Thank you very much."

Earlier in the day, Tendulkar attended a health awareness programme organised by Unicef at a high school in Rupganj.
