China's Shanshan claims LPGA Malaysia

    China's Shanshan Feng wins LPGA Malaysia by three shots in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday (12th October).

    Script:

    Malaysia's Prime Minister Najib Razak was in the gallery for the final round of the LPGA Malaysia.

    With the Malaysian competitors off the pace, it was overnight leader Pornanon Phatlum leading the charge.

    Her second birdie of the day came following this approach at the 10th. At that stage restoring her four shot overnight lead.

    The challenge came from Sweden's Pernilla Lindberg. Here at 15 taking a birdie to moved tied with Phatlum with three to play.

    The Thai player going in the water with her tee shot at the 15th and having to do with a double bogey.

    Yet, while Phatlum was throwing the title away, China's Feng Shanshan made her move.

    She sat two shots ahead of Phatlum going down 16 and put this approach to within eagle range.

    Shanshan rolling that in to move to 18-under for her round and an all important three ahead of Phatlum as she birdied 16.

    She played out the final two holes to par and claim the title by three shots from Phatlum.

    With the win, Shanshan claims her third title of her career and a likely spot in the World's Top 5 in the rankings next week.
