  • Intro:

Post game reaction after the Kansas City Royals beat the Baltimore Orioles 6-4 on Saturday (October 11th) for a 2-0 lead in the American League Championship Series.

    Script:

SOUNDBITE: (English) Ned Yost, Kansas City Royals manager (on being underdogs):

"Well, you know, I think we came into this series the underdog and our guys, they don't really pay much attention to that. I don't think they mind being the underdog, because they have a lot of confidence in their abilities. But they're playing their best baseball of the year right now, and it's sure the best time to play it."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Lorenzo Cain, Kansas City Royals centre fielder (on being 6-0 in the post-season):

"We're confident, you know. Our team is very confident. But at the end of the day you've got to go out and do it on the field. So that's what we've been doing as of late. And we've been on a nice run so far. But got to bounce back. We've got a day off tomorrow. And next day get back focused and get ready for the (Baltimore) Orioles."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Buck Showalter, Baltimore Orioles Manager (on his team being down 2-0 in the series):

"Well, Kansas City has faced challenges, it's what guys, teams do at this level. But it's a, you've got to win four games. You've got to keep from losing more than three. And that's obviously oversimplifying it, but you look at teams that compete during the course of the season, they compete on the road, too. So got a lot of confidence in our guys.
