As part of a huge push to connect with more fans globally, the NBA is staging the second edition of the NBA Global Games.

Five elite teams will participate in games around the world.

Miami Heat and Cleveland Cavaliers will provide entertainment in Rio de Janeiro on the 11th of October as part of their pre-season warm-ups.

And as the NBA brand looks to expand beyond the shores of North America, the Heat held a skills session on Wednesday in their practice arena in Rio.

The biggest name at the clinic was former Heat standout Alonzo Mourning, who now works in the Heat's front office. Shabazz Napier and James Ennis were also in attendance.

Children and teenagers from local favelas had the chance to meet their idols and receive training advice.

Several more events are planned before the big face-off between the Heat and Cavaliers.

The match-up has been keenly anticipated. It will be LeBron James' first game in a Cavaliers' shirt since he opted out of his contract with the Heat to rejoin his old team.
