The umbrellas were up to shield the residents of Shanghai from the sun.

Pablo Andujar may have wished he had one to protect him from the serves that John Isner rained down on him during their first round match of the Shanghai Masters.

The American hit 22 aces and even when Andujar did get his racquet to the ball, he struggled to evade the net.

Isner won 71% of his service points so it took something special for Andujar to earn his breaks.

Despite taking the second set, Andujar couldn't control his opponent's power as Isner wrapped up his 38th win of the season.

The world number 14 is looking to advance past the third round in Shanghai for the first time in five attempts.
