Matteo Bonciani, the Head of F1 Communications for the FIA, asked the media to respect the privacy of family members who have flown in to be at Bianchi's bedside and that there will be further updates concerning the driver's condition in due course.

"I'm here because the family asked me to make... to say a few words to you... as you know, they have done a very, very long trip to see their son and they asked me to tell you that they don't want to talk and they want you to respect their privacy. They have seen their son, they have been together with him and (his) condition, as you can imagine, remains critical. They will see the doctors tomorrow. Jules (Bianchi) has been well assisted since the really, really beginning. They will see the doctors, talk to them and... but they are asking me again to (ask) do not talk to them, to respect their privacy. Tomorrow we will have his friend Nicola talk, he will be here and of course, our wishes are to respect what I have to say to you, and our wishes are with Jules, who has been so well supported by everybody, by the other drivers, by the community, by fans, that they left some stuff for him."
