Tom Chilton successfully converted his first World Touring Car Championship pole position of the season into a first win for 2014 at the Goldenport Park Circuit as series dominators Citroen met their match at the twisty venue.

The Englishman had already caused a surprise by qualifying on pole position in his Chevrolet Cruze, with second place man Gabriele Tarquini in his Honda ensuring a Citroen wouldn't qualify on the front of the grid.

In round 18, Rob Huff ended Lada's six-year wait for a World Touring Car Championship victory by scoring the Russian manufacturer's maiden win in the reversed-grid race in Beijing.

The 2012 WTCC champion exploited his pole position for qualifying 10th to the full. He had the required strength of pace to protect his lead from a late threat offered by Dutch veteran Tom Coronel.
