SOUNDBITE (English) Kelly Slater:

"It's just a big playing field. A lot of water moving around. And as soon as you get swept in front of the stand here you're just down the beach quickly because all the water is moving that way. But, there are spectacular waves out there if you can get in the right spot, but it's tough to be there."

SOUNDBITE (English) Josh Kerr:

"Going into that last one I totally changed my frame of mind and just going "ok, just look for turns" and if a barrel comes it comes. And in that heat, the wind started coming up so all the barrels are done and luckily enough I had a couple of decent ones at the start of the heat that sealed it."
