    Script:

Rafael Nadal is out of the China Open. The second seed lost his quarter-final to World Number 56 Martin Klizan despite taking the first set on a tie-break.

This was Nadal's third match since he recovered from a wrist injury and he appeared to tire against the big hitting Slovakian.

Klizan took the second set 6-4 and after a gruelling two hours and 36 minutes on court he won match point to claim the shock of the tournament.

He will face Tomas Berdych in Saturday's semi-final. The Czech eased past John Isner 6-1 6-4 in their quarter-final. Form that will make Berdych think he can win here, just like he did in 2011.
