Akhisar Belediye remain top of the Turkish Super Lig after they beat champions Fenerbahce 2-0 on Sunday (28th September) - Besiktas move up into second place, despite being held to a 1-1 draw at home by Eskisehirspor on Saturday (27th September).

Saturday saw Besiktas hosting Eskisehirspor in the Turkish Super Lig with a chance to go clear at the top of the table.

And Slaven Bilic's men started well, taking the lead in the 21st minute.

Canadian striker Atiba Hutchinson's header forced a good save from Ruud Boffin, but he could nothing on the follow up as Olcay Sahan put the loose ball in from a tight angle.

However, the visitors found a way back into the game with 18 minutes left, the Besiktas defence failed to clear a corner and it to German-born defender Berkay Dabanli.

He thrashed it home to make it 1-1 and that's how it finished.

A second draw at home for Besiktas who went top for the evening but were knocked off Sunday when Akhisar Belediye faced Fenerbahce.

The home side produced an impressive performance and took the lead when Greek striker Theofanis Gekas latched onto an excellent long ball and finished nicely for the opener.

Any hopes Fenerbahce had were put to bed just three minutes into the second half.

Bruno Mezenga broke down the right hand side on a quick counter attack and picked out Gekas in the box.

Mert Gunok got a hand to it, but it wasn't enough to stop the 34-year-old from picking up his second of the match.

It finished 2-0, three points for Akhisar Belediye who go top on 10 points from four games, two clear of Besiktas.
