  • Intro:

Jarosław Hampel wins the Scandinavian Speedway Grand Prix whilst world champion Tai Woffinden fails to advance from the semi-final stage.

    Script:

World champion Tai Woffinden made a shock return to the track just five weeks after a serious crash at Eastbourne.

The Scandinavian Speedway Grand Prix had a distinctly Polish feel to it as Jaroslaw Hampel dominated proceedings.

Hampel won his semi-final, while Woffinden missed the cut in his.

Woffinden injured his hand in a horrific crash at Eastbourne when he was riding for Wolverhampton five weeks ago.

The 24-year-old's appearance in Stockholm came as a surprise after he pulled out of the Elite League Riders’ Championship at King's Lynn on Thursday as a precaution.

Pole Hampel then beat a field including championship leader Greg Hancock, Krzysztof Kasprzak and Chris Holder in the final.

Hampel's 21 points moves him into the top eight of the standings while Hancock holds onto a 12 point lead at the top.
