SOUNDBITE (English): Marvan Atapattu, Sri Lankan national cricket coach:

"Expectations, responsibilities that comes along with the opportunity that I have been given. But I strongly believe that I get the support ... I got the support that I need to take this team forward. And I am very fortunate to have a very talented young team who can bring Sri Lanka success, short-term as well as long-term."

SOUNDBITE (English): Marvan Atapattu, Sri Lankan national cricket coach

"I accept the fact that it is the World Cup that our immediate focus is. But you see we have done well in the last few months starting January, especially. And we were building ourselves up to that and I think we can be very happy looking back on what we have achieved."

SOUNDBITE (English): Marvan Atapattu, Sri Lankan national cricket coach

"I am someone who likes to have everything transparent. I think working in a group it is so important. And that gives everyone confidence. And it is easier to manage because everybody knows which part, which way we are going. And I don't think and I don't wish to bring in any politics, if at all. And I don't believe it will be there because we as a nation we strive towards one goal. We win as one, we lose as one. At the end of the day, what matters is how quickly we can learn from the experience."
